Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her initial roles on Broadway include the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed directors and actors across stage film and television and she continues that award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford will be seen as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the show. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over 100 Years. Her two-season stint on the CBS show B Positive was her first major character. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford has been born in Denver, now spends time in Los Angeles and New York.
